To commemorate an IR-DX member who passed away

We have been informed, that our well-known member and formerly president of IR-DX group from the past, 1IR749 Stefano passed away on January 2nd 2026. 

Stefano has been a good friend of many members inside IR-DX Group and he was a visitor of several IR-meetings around Europe. Also his memorable meetings in Modena Italy were great and we do remember his 266IR/0 activation from Eastern Kiribati.

For several years, he did a lot of work for the International Radio DX Group which we will never forget.

153IR012 Andre silent key

Nico 19IR011 informed us, that he received sad news from the XYL of 153IR012 (formerly 19IR012) Andre, that Andre passed away on the 4th of June 2025, at the age of 70. 

When Andre still lived in the Netherlands, he and his wife Jeanette (RIP) did arrange the well-known IR-meetings at the Baseball Club “Blue Birds” where they did run the bar for the club. These meetings were unforgetable and always a lot of fun.

Andre did some activations : 59IR0 – 113IR/DX – 113ir/JM010 – Jamboree and he was member of the Crazy Outlaw team who made an Asia tour in 2001 – 58IR/DX – 153IR/AS-101 – 225IR/0.

Funeral 13IR249 Ralph

Friday 06 december 2024 the funeral of 13IR249 Ralph has taken place in Roth – Germany.

Several IR members and other radio friends were able to give him a dignified farewell, along with Ralph’s relatives and other friends.

On behalf of the IR-DX Group a floral wreath has been laid.

So long, Ralph, Rest in Peace !

13IR249 Ralph – silent key

Today we have to tell you that our member and good friend Ralph also known as 13IR249 from the city Roth in Germany, suddenly passed away while he was in Asia together with 13IR102 Lars.

Just out before he was active on Asia tour activating several divisions for the 11 meter community.
Many of us know Ralph from the 1980s, when many people started with 11 meter DX.

Ralph was a fine operator and the polite man. The world will miss him.

Our condolences and thoughts are with his family and friends and also to Lars, 13IR102 who was together with him doing an Asia tour.
